Dorindo Gravina has been an avid hunter
and fisherman for close to 40 years and along with his firearms
training partner, together have over 80 years of experience in hunting
and shooting sports. He is experienced in all the aspects of hunting
including hunting with a Bow, Crossbow, Rifle, Shotgun, and Muzzle
loader. He has always been a student himself and is always trying
to learn and improve what he brings to the classroom.
"I've always believed that hunting is a family activity. I
take great satisfaction in teaching new and young hunters coming
into the sport. I've been fortunate enough to hunt with my family
including my father, both my grandfathers, as well as my uncles,
and now with my children. My friends and family hunt with me including
my children, my father, uncles, and all our friends, its great.
I've always tried teaching my kids and my students about conservation,
ethics, and the respect for the animals they will pursue and put
on their tables, but also to respect all of nature and what our
relationships and responsibility should be."
It's these beliefs that he brings to the Hunter Education. An active
member of the Islington Sportsmen Club who always helps out with
youth related programs at the club. He's also a member of the Ontario
Federation of Anglers and Hunters as well as the International Hunter
Education Association.
